It's worth mentioning that each season of Street Fighter 5's DLC has included one grappler character among the pack. According to the National Wrestler Hall of Fame, Lincoln was "an awesome physical specimen at 6-feet-4, was widely known for his wrestling skills and had only one recorded defeat in a dozen years." Late last year, we dug a little deeper and learned that Abraham Lincoln was actually a prominent wrestler back in his day. We already mentioned his Uncle Sam pose in Arcade Edition's cinematic intro, but another contributing piece of evidence to this theory is G's resemblance to the 16th president of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. This came from a once avid leaker who shared the Street Fighter 5 Season 3 line up back in November of last year, saying that Blanka, Sakura, Sagat, a mayor (Cody), "another bae" (Falke), and a "president" (G) would be the game's DLC roster for 2018.īased on his appearance, the president title seems to fit with G. One of the first descriptions of G we saw noted that he is a "president" character. G is a president in Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition / influenced by Abraham Lincoln If the two are connected somehow, though, it could be setting up for a new general cinematic story mode that involves G. While this new theme for Street Fighter 5 could just be a simple design choice from the developers and have nothing to do with the actual story or characters, it does seem a little too coincidental to be nothing.
BLOODY ROAR 3 INTRO MOVIE
The overhauled HUD and character select screen features a lot of the color gold and we see references to what appears to be a movie set in several areas of the game including the intro cinematic, the character select screen, and even the camera shutter noise when a Critical Art meter becomes fully filled. Some fans (including myself) believe this might be tied to the new theme that came about with the Arcade Edition update. From what we've seen so far, he appears to have gold scattered along his arms and on his face. He's behind all of the gold and the movie set theme in Arcade EditionĪnother one of G's physical traits we see is the odd gold markings on his body.

They do share the single letter name too. Perhaps there are actually clones of Q out there and G is one of them. So, there's a chance that G is actually Q and we're finally going to get more information about who or what Q is.Ĭapcom has deliberately revealed little about Q over the years, but one portion of his story mentions reports of seeing him in several areas of the world at the same time. In Street Fighter 5, story mode costumes always have a direct tie to the character's backstory for the game - meaning they aren't just randomly designed and given to these characters. If you take a look at G's, he is dressed up as Street Fighter 3 Third Strike's Q complete with mask, hat, and trench coat. What's interesting is that the promotional image used for the listing revealed all six characters' story mode costumes. Not long after Arcade Edition was released, a listing for Season 3's story mode costume colors surfaced on the PlayStation Store. If there's one thing we can say for sure, it's that G has some connection to Q in Street Fighter 5.
